OATS UPMA



INGREDIENTS :

  • Oats - 1 cup
  • Onion - 1 medium
  • Curry leaves and coriander leaves
  • Ginger - 1 small piece
  • Green Chillies - 3
  • Channa Dal - 1 tsp
  • Boiled mixed vegetables
  • Mustard - 1 tsp
  • Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Fry oats in a kadai with out oil for 2 minutes and keep aside.

2) Heat oil in a kadai.Add mustard,jeera and channa dal.Once it splutters,add chopped onion and saute till golden brown.


3)Add chopped chillies , ginger, blended tomato, chilli powder, boiled mixed vegetables and Salt. Saute for 3 minutes.


4)Add 1 cup of water for rolled oats or 1/4 cup of water for Porridge oats .Allow it to boil. 

5)When it starts boiling add oats and stir well.Cover with a lid and cook till oats is cooked without water. 



Serve with spicy chutney.
